Softbank Mobile App Design
Softbank Mobile App Design

This is a project I did over the course of a day in my free time. I was inspired to design this simply out of my own interest in designing an app that streamlined the essential tasks that a mobile banking app would be used for. I also wanted to experiment with a color scheme that I've rarely used in my professional work as a UX/UI Designer.

As this was a project I did on my own, I was the sole Graphic Designer and UX/UI Designer. The logo and brand style guide were put together in Adobe Photoshop, and the High Fidelity prototype and mockups were built in Figma. A video of the app in use via a HiFi Prototype can be seen here.

What did I learn later on? After showing it around, I received feedback about the icons not being clear enough at the bottom of the screen. Most users could determine the Account and Menu buttons, but were lost on the others. This resulted in me needing to go back to the mockups and adding titles to the icons so users knew what they represented. This helped me realize that minimalism and simplicity don't always equal the same thing, and it's better to offer a product that is clear up front so users can have the best experience possible.
